VANCOUVER, January 23, 2023 – We’re excited to report we’ve been named to the 2023 Global Cleantech 100. This is an annual list—running since 2009 and compiled by the Cleantech Group—that showcases companies who are taking strong and decisive action on the path to net-zero.
There were more than 15,750 nominations for this year’s list, from 93 countries around the world. Ekona made the initial shortlist of 330 companies. We were then evaluated by a panel of more than 80 technology and innovation investors and executives to assess our determination and potential to deliver innovation that will change the future.
Richard Youngman, CEO, Cleantech Group described the 2023 Global Cleantech 100 list as “remarkable for the number of businesses… who represent solutions for some of the hardest of decarbonization challenges.”
For Ekona, decarbonization can’t be about either/or solutions, it must be about and. The clean hydrogen our world needs is not going to come only from renewables and electrolysis. We need pragmatic, economic, and near-term solutions to meet growing global demand for hydrogen, decarbonized natural gas, and greenhouse gas reductions at the scale and timing necessary to combat climate change.
Ekona makes low-cost, industrial-scale, clean hydrogen possible where our customers need it, utilizing today’s natural gas infrastructure to meet tomorrow’s net-zero targets. We’ve applied science, engineering, and customer-focused mission thinking to the net-zero challenge, using a commercially established process – methane pyrolysis – in a ground-breaking new way.
We’re sorry to miss this week’s Cleantech Forum North America in Palm Springs; we thank the Cleantech Group for recognizing the work we do and congratulate everyone else who made the list.
