It’s been a whirlwind of a year at Ekona! Here are some milestones and highlights from the last six months, as we head into 2025.

NRCan and Alberta Innovates funding will support Ekona’s FEED study for a 20-tpd hydrogen production plant.

Ekona’s novel methane pyrolysis platform converts natural gas into hydrogen and solid carbon. CICE’s investment will directly benefit solid carbon management activities at Ekona.

The construction phase of Ekona Gold Creek began in September 2024. Since then, the team has met significant milestones to advance the project.

We were excited to host the Honourable Jonathan Wilkinson, Canada’s Minister of Energy and Natural Resources, at our Burnaby facility on July 9 to announce a $1M investment in Ekona.

Ekona is excited to be partnering with ARC Resources on the first industrial deployment of our methane pyrolysis solution for clean hydrogen production.

Ekona met internal performance milestones in late 2023, validating the xCaliber™ reactor in a 200-kilogram-hydrogen-per-day system and preparing the platform for field deployment.
